Taite Gallagher Blog 1: Catching Fire

Right now I am reading Catching Fire by Susan Collins. My sister was the one that got me into this book because The Hunger Games movie came out and she wanted people to get into it. I have read 5 chapters so far. Katniss (the main character) is recovering from the games. She is heading back to the city for a celebration and a recap of the games. I think so far the book is fairly good. I say this because it's not as good as the first book was but i wouldn't say its terrible. I would just personally say it's not as action packed as the first one was. But yet its only the first 5 chapters so hopefully it will get better.
I think the author wrote not only this book but the entire series to show were we are going. Mainly showing how entertainment in the future will turn out. I think it's just a bunch of personal opinions, some I agree with, others I don't. The best character is Katniss because she is the main character and we get to see her a lot in the book. She is a young girl (in her teens) who volunteered to go to the hunger games to save her sister prim. So just in the first book you could see how she grew in responsibility. Another example is when Peta gets hurt in the games and Katniss defends him and aids him. I am not far enough in the book to see if katniss has changed a lot but in my next post hopefully I will be able to tell.

A question I have for the book is "why are we not hearing about Peta? Is he dead?" I hope I am able to find out!
