           Post Oneeeeeeeeee! THE HUNGER GAMES.

I am currently reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I am around half way through. I am at the part where they are first entering the arena. Basically the book is about a country called Panam. It has 12 districts and every year each district is required to send a male and a female "tribute" between the ages of twelve and eighteen to compete in the "Hunger Games". The twenty-four teenagers are placed in a giant arena pitted against one another in a fight to the death.
It is so far the greatest book EVER. Soooooooooooo good. The reason it was so addictive, I think, is because it is every type of book mashed into a story of love, violence, and human nature. It's tragic, romantic, filled with action, and yet at times funny.
I think when writing this book Suzanne Collins was trying to teach us about what desperate people will do in desperate times. Also, she is trying to show us (by the circumstances under which the people are living) that bad things could come by giving the government too much power. Overall I think what the author wanted us to see from reading this book is the true character of people when placed in a life or death situation.
My favorite character would have to be Peeta. He is the 16 year old male tribute from the same district as the main character Katniss. They are both from Dictrict 12.
This would have to have been my favorite part of the book so far, when I was really hooked. It's the boy from District 12 (Peeta, the male tribute from the same district as the main character) during his pre-game interview.
Caesar: “Handsome lad like you. There must be some special girl. Come on, what’s her name?”
Peeta: “Well, there is this one girl. I’ve had a crush on her ever since I can remember. But I’m pretty sure she didn’t know I was alive until the reaping.”
Caesar: “She have another fellow?”
Peeta: “I don’t know, but a lot of boys like her.”
Caesar: “So, here’s what you do. You win, you go home. She can’t turn you down then, eh?”
Peeta: “I don’t think it’s going to work out. Winning…won’t help in my case”
Caesar: “Why ever not?”
Peeta: “Because…because…she came here with me.”
Where I stopped I have sooooooooooo many questions. What's going to happen with Peeta and Katniss? Does Katniss feel the same way? And of course, what will happen in the arena? Who will live and who will be the first to die?
